Jonathon Roumie portrays Jesus so well in this show. I’ve heard and read the words of Christ many times but when I watch the Chosen and hear those same words it has a completely different effect on me.

Remember the caveat: SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD. If you lead a godly life, your behavior will produce the conditions that satisfy your needs. This isn't a "self help" message. It's just an observation between cause and effect, and a product of what the Christian revolution brought into existence.

If Jesus isn't "commanding your anxiety away", as if anxious people had no idea their thoughts were irrational. Jesus is offering both comfort AND advice. The church herself WILL provide--ideally, regardless of how anyone acts. That's the goal. But there is this promise: SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM, and all of these shall be given to you.
