Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday (June 27) campaigned in New Hampshire to solidify support for his effort to return to the White House.
Referring to federal indictments he faces for alleged mishandling of classified documents, Trump repeated his claim that the case is politically motivated. Trump told supporters he would "end the weaponisation of the Justice Department and the abuse of law enforcement to stop political dissent."
Federal prosecutors say Trump broke the law by taking national defence secrets with him to Mar-a-Lago when he left office and rebuffing repeated attempts by government officials to have them returned as well as obstructing a federal investigation, which he denies.
Trump is leading his 2024 Republican rivals, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, by a comfortable margin in several polls.
