In this video we're going to talk about how to build a "basstrap". First off: Is there really such a thing that traps bass? Watch the video to find out!

Good stuff.
You're videos are getting more of a slick "Hollywood" look. :-)

With the two front walls out of phase, are they the main factor in 'tuning' the center frequency of the absorber unit? Are the two front walls used in determining the bandwidth of the absorption?

Finally a guide that doesnt waste aprox 80 % of my lifetime on advertising or overexplaining common sense knowlage.
thank you sir!

Thanks Dennis, I've been fascinated with acoustics lately, I've signed up on your site, but never received the verification email. However, I've been enjoying your YouTube channel and learning and observing as much as possible.

So i know very little about soundproofing. I am remodeling a mobile home and it is located right next to an airforc base that has very loud jet planes. Looking for cost effective options. Liked your warning on wool insulation.

love the new business focus, transforming it into distributors and customer educators is a great way to reach international level. now everything will be perfect if you make an alliance with sodimac, getting really tired of their fiberglass.

Acoustic foam isn't the most efficient LF absorber, but its effectiveness does increase somewhat with thickness. I've seen the rates/levels on your 3" StudioPro foam, but have you ever done any rates/levels testing on 6" or 9" or 12" of your foam, including at frequencies at or below 125Hz, like 40, 60, 83, 100?

If you place a large sofa/chair in your listening room, which contains dense foam, soft foam, out of phase timber and air space, will that provide a decent level of low frequency attenuation? My room is well screened for mid & high frequencies, and that has immediately exposed the ‘built-in’ bass resonance. Listening through a Bryston/Adam Audio A8H pairing, with high end signal (analogue and digital).

Anything above 1k i want to treat evenly in a very small room. I have options to put rockwool panels on wall, but not sure about which density to buy starting from 40 to 160 kg/m3. Any recommedations?

Do these work in a small room ?,
im going to build a studio that’s 3, 70 M long 2, 30 M wide and 2, 4 M high . And its going to stand 2 meter in the air on a steel frame .
In my head i think i know how im going to do it but still a lot of variabels to think off

Hey Dennis! Thanks for the info. I am interested how can I optimize my studio room (20-25 square meters) before planning additional panels and acoustic treatment? What to look for, what materials for walls/ceiling/floor, type of construction, etc. Thank you.
Bests, Antonio

In this video I noticed there was 2" X 12" studs used as your side walls. Is it okay to build a cabinet on casters using 2" X 12" studs as my side walls, top & bottom walls, or would that make a difference as apposed to using MDF?

Lets say I buy 10 acda-10s and I need them on Colombia, how much will the shipping be?
Btw thanks for the videos, I have a little home studio with some corner foam """"bass that dont do much... Seeing this content gives me hope that one day I"ll be able to hear my mixes with the low Frequencies being well represented with no huge dips and peaks.

I do understand that simplest design of diaphragmatic absorber uses pressure (not velocity) to move front thinner part in much more rigid box hence absorbing energy around resonant frequency.
But your second membrane and more importantly carbon inside the unit are velocity based turning velocity of air molecules into heat?
If so, the inner plate vibrates in such a way that molecules moves inside carbon horizontally.

What I am trying to say is that it seems that your unit is both:
- pressure system in terms of typical pure diaphragmatic absorption
- velocity of molecules inside carbon area

I have purchased DIY. Thank you.

Hello! Tell me plz. What kind of carbon better to use?
1 woody carbon - charcoal
2 coconut coal
3 hard stone coal
4 coal sorbent

Hey Dennis, do you happen to have any measurement results of this type of absorber? I am very interested in checking it out

Hello! According to this video I can buy DIY plans for ACDA. Can't find them on site....

did you consider mounting speakers in the celling transmitting a frequency that cancels out the sub responce?

What is the cost of the carbon? Lets say enough to fill one of those bass manager cabinets
