I stumbled on your content recently and it's been incredible so far! I'm Haitian on my mom's side, but I grew up evangelical christian, very much conforming to the white gaze and all that. I never got a chance to learn kreyol or anything because my mom never learned it from my grandma.

I've been trying to learn more and sit with my own black identity and actually define what it means to me, and getting the chance to learn about Haitian voodoo and the Lwa, and now other African religions too, is incredibly meaningful to me. thank you so much!

Nearly 2 years ago I was in a pig Tatian of meditation. Doing so day and night. Seeking something within myself answers. After about nine days of consistent meditation. I was gifted one word about something that who I am or who I’m connected to. OBA.

In all honesty i think Obba was the beautiful out of the Orishias and they plotted against her cutting her ear off to get Shango to see her abnormality. Most of the people who worship Obba Nani are very attractive men and women. The people who worship Oshun and Oya are very basic looking. There is this Scorpio guy on my job that put a root on me because people find me attractive He doesn't like my aura. Oya was the one who did that to Obba.

Is this plantation vodou? Cuz for me as an olocha in santeria, there's no auch things as altars to orisha, we have ceremonies done to recieve orisha, not buy statues and say we "work" with orisha.

Any thoughts on this?
