This event also serves as a decent source of credits and nanites – you always receive a bunch after the battle is finished!

The game creates a save when you encounter the dreadnaught. Just reload that save over and over until you have an S class.

Some other tips:
- don't forget to talk to the captain to claim your reward, mine was 6.7m units every time
- if you want to farm the dreadnought to salvage its S-tier module, it can't surrender you have to destroy it immediately (shields, rods, then the hull quickly)
- if you want to farm nice rewards, find one between one or two maxed-out explorers guild so that you can reap those rewards as well (anomaly detector, starship storage module, etc.), but according to some sources you'd have a harder time finding a S-class fregate in non-outlaw systems (1-3% vs 5%)
- I find the positron ejector (aka the space shotgun) to be the quickest weapon for this task, and best weapon in general imo
- look for ships in the station as well, there's a good chance you'll find at least one exotic ship
- imo the only thing rocket boots are useful for is for being faster in space stations, so use that at your advantage
- if you already own a freighter don't forget to transfer all the technologies and supplies to the new one, and your freighter base can stay the same (you'll be given the option)
- it can take some time, so for those not used to grinding, grab a hot beverage, turn off the in-game sounds and music, and listen to a podcast or something, it'll help! And it can also be fast, it only took me 15 tries in a non-outlaw system (a few minutes each loop), so don't give up

Just letting you know! If you can’t seem to get a dreadnought to spawn! Just go in your settings and on the difficulty tab, change hostility in space to max and you’ll encounter a dreadnought next pirate system!

Make sure you don’t switch systems, like between two pirate controlled systems, trying to get an S class. Just make a save right before your fifth jump and jump to the same system over and over till you find an S class. It’s a quick fight once you get it down. Be persistent, it took me hours of fighting that ship over and over till an S class finally popped up.

Land in a space station before you warp to the pirate freighter battle and save there. Load, warp in and fight. I got an S Class Dreadnought in about 16 reloads. It's quicker to take the engines out, then the shield generators and cores I found.

For it to be easier you can also sort by conflict and look for red its gonna show either level 3 or pirate controled

I'll be keeping this in mind for the future. Since my character is new, it's all about making money and getting resources right now. S-tier ships are expensive as hell, so getting one is not a priority right now.

took me around 15 tries to get an S class but man I love this ship lol. esp the fact that the hangar doesnt have anything blocking the exit to crash into. plus looking off the base to see 10 story laser cannons is neat

I encountered this dreadnaught before knowing the contents of the update that time. Defeated after luckily figuring it out and turns it out it was an S class. I immediately exchanged it for my A class Venator which I grinded for 12 straight hours.

Another tip if you are trying it, if tou struggle to find an S-class try warping to different pirate system. I got 10 C-classes in a row, then i changed to different pirate system and got S-class first try
