One of the most famous things to do when visiting Kerala India is to do the backwaters. This trip of mine was planned by my local friend Arun who found this hidden gem of Kerala India's Backwaters. Initially I already had plans to visit the most common place for a backwater tour which was ALLEPPEY, but my local friend told me that the price offered to me was just too steep and the activities were minimal. He suggested us doing this hidden backwater location which are only known by the politicians, diplomats, nobles etc from around the world. This is a 3-hours boat ride tour that allows you to meet with local villagers somewhere in a place called "Poothota" which was more affordable INR2,000 per head in which lunch was also included fresh from the village. The lush green landscape, houses and villages that line the backwaters make a journey along these waterways seem like a journey through another world.
