One point that mosts analysts dont know or forget:

Poland took on communism in 1946 the same way Poland took on Christianity in 966: very superficially.

When communism started falling in 1988, institutions known from market-economy counties, like the Central Bank that actually implements a fiscal policy, small businesses that can't wait to manufacture and export, down to eggheads in economics, they were right there, waiting for a signal to get out.

They started acting mere months after the 1989 elwctions

(BTW… rhose wlections took place on June 4th… the same day as rhe Tiananmen)
