Kansas State was not known for their football program before Bill Snyder was hired as head coach in 1989, but several players still stood out and were able to make All American or All Conference teams. Here are my top 10.

Love seeing the footage of Dickey, Grogan, Herron, the days that made me a fan, listening to the radio on Saturdays!

Hundley (#9) is from my hometown. My brother played with him. Good dude.

That's a good list! Others who deserve a shoutout would be Ray Hahn (K-State's first ever All-American in football), Elmer Hackney, "Rammin' Ralph" Graham, the first great Wildcat RB, who was one untimely injury away from leading K-State to a Rose Bowl in 1931 (and who later came back to coach the team, at which he was sadly much less successful than he was at playing the game) Bill Matan (to be fair, his wife was a friend of mine from work some years ago, so I'm a bit biased in his favor), and the "1-2 Punch" RB/FB duo of the late 70s, Roosevelt Duncan and LJ Brown.

No John Liebe is crazy (he’s my uncle and I’m totally biased)

And to think, #1 on the list is Collin Klein's father-in-law. I hope OCCK's kids take after BOTH sides of their family!
