Jimmie Rodgers was an American country musician who recorded prolifically for the Victor Talking Machine Company (Later RCA Victor) from 1927-1933, and was one of the first big stars of the early country music scene. On this record, he sings one of his famous "Blue Yodels" as they were called, this one in particular being "Blue Yodel No. 4" or "California Blues", sung by him with a small group accompaniment.
