Nintendo Game and Watch: Super Mario Bros Edition ... Not Worth $50!

In this video I will be talking about the new Nintendo Game and Watch Super Mario Bros Game and how Nintendo is ripping us off and taking advantage of our memories by charging us too much money for older games we love. Enough is enough! We all love Mario but this cheap piece of plastic shouldn't be $50. Nintendo Game and Watch brings us some of our favorite classics from a long time ago, but it shouldn't be the price of a brand new video game.

It's a collectible. A collectible that will only increase in price considering that it's a limited-time product with the production line ending in March of 2021.

I'm wondering how old you are because quite frankly I'm surprised they were not priced $100 a piece. A big draw to this product is the "Game & Watch" design from the late 70's early 80's. It has the Super Mario Bro's game, the Super Mario Bro's "lost levels", the classic game & watch ball game, clock mode and around 35 hidden easter eggs of different pictures and animations...some set to music. I used to own a few of these "Game & Watch" games in the early 80's: (Fire & Donkey Kong) before the NES was produced and I am very excited to once again relive some of my childhood with this new product to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bro's. I also anticipate the potential for them to commemorate The Legend of Zelda next year when they celebrate their 35th anniversary. Oh yeah also for the record I ordered one from Game Stop for $50 and had absolutely no problem with them having enough in stock...I think you jumped the gun too early.

I walked in at Game Stop on launch day and I bought it for $50 there was 2 left after I bought mine at 4:00 PM. I don't think it's overpriced.

It's got features and mechanics that aren't on other versions its not the same game pixel for pixel. And it's also targeting a certain demographic. A ten year old isn't going to think this is worth anything. But the die hard nintendo brand fans are going to appreciate this piece of hardware and the love and detail inside of it. Lastly, this will sky rocket in value in a couple months because of its limited run. Worth every penny if you like it. This video is only an opinion.

Some people have misconceptions about what this is and is not.
It's a collector's item commemoratiing the 35th anniversary of Mario Bros and 40th anniversary of the Game and Watch series .This is the first G&W since 1991 I believe.
It is an upgrade from previous G&Ws in that the graphics are superior and it's in color .
Not meant to be a console on the scale of Switch

No thanks Nintendo. For $33 I got Mario plus 499 other games in 1 cartridge.

I never saw a demand for these. The stores in tampa always had around a dozen each

I have the device and I like it, but as a Game and Watch enthusiast, I would appreciate, if the device contained, for example, emulation of more Game and Watch titles. Why is there emulation of Ball, but not of the original Super Mario Bros LCD game? What a missed opportunity!

Hmm if they had way more Mario games then I’d consider it

They’ve been riding the nostalgia of Mario’s name for decades bro. Didn’t know you were around H-town, so am I 🤙🏼

I don’t think it’s a ripoff for the exact reason you said at the beginning. It’s a high end, quality made limited edition product. This isn’t something that is meant to be seen as a gaming device, it’s meant for the hardcore audience that have no problem paying for a replication of a piece of history. I have one and do not regret it, looks beautiful on my shelf, nice quality materials and a very nice screen. The brushed gold aluminum face makes it feel very very nice. I feel like some of these criticism are not valid. You aren’t paying for SMB, your paying for the collectible. If you wanted just smb or lost world, you can play it on switch online. This is for collectors.

some game stores here in philippines, they sell it for 120 dollars. 😭

Agree with you, but as long as collectors keep buying, Nintendo will continue sharting them out.

Very true, but Mario is really Nintendos only money maker. I think it is a sad fact that the video games today are incomplete non innovative and non captivating, unlike retro video games which were complete polished actually and FUN. Nice video!! Thanks for the honest review!

Finally some lucid review, so cringe to see people amazed on yt for 2 roms nes and a low quality screen. For 10 dollars more I took the rg280v and it play every console up to psx

I have NES installed on my blackberry Key2 and all keys are mapped. It is fun rather buying a console.

I dont understand...you knew very well what you were purchasing and what it costs. Why complain about it after you already made the purchase? Are you disappointed by the build quality or the emulation? I agree it is expensive for a curio, but you could have just not bought it, you know...

Yeah, I had the same thoughts watching your video yesterday about it. It could have been really cool instead of what it is.

I’ve found this a very conflicted review
