The Mysterious Sawtooth Dolphin Sighting

In 1993, during a solo fishing trip in the Amazon basin, American Jeremy Wade spotted an unusual sea creature lurking under the still waters. Approaching 100 ft from his small boat, the animal initially resembled a gray dolphin.

But peering closer, its body sported evenly carved cuts spanning from head to tail. Perplexed yet fascinated, Wade asked locals from a nearby village about the strange swimmer. They dismissed his sighting as a drunk illusion.

Weeks later, Wade learned that one villager witnessed an identical species, dubbed the Holadeira or sawtooth dolphin. Determined to confirm the dolphin’s existence, he launched another well-documented expedition in 1994, this time capturing the wonder on camera.
