The other thing may be to mention is that there is hardly any margin for the bookies at the front of the market and occassionally the bookies price at SP is above the BF price - which is usually the " true price " at SP, as we know . For those people who bet multiples, betting only on the short price horses at least means you`re giving very little up to them and are sometimes even beating BF. 4x EVEN money shots in multiples is better value than 4x 10/1 shots if the punter in using a bookie as the outsiders ` should be nearer 20/1 but the even money shots are more or less the correct price.

Edit... I always look for horses priced at around the 7/1 mark and never in a field of more than 10 Runners when I put lucky 15 bets on.
Betting in the Saturday afternoon "Cavelry charges" where there is 25 runners in the race is a surefire way to be out of pocket. Bookies LOVE people betting in these races.

problem in ireland is that now most high street shops no longer give guaranteed prices on shop placed multiples, i leaned this to my cost recently when i hit a lucky 15 and accum cost me over 500 euro

This is all good in theory, if you can distinguish the correct value odds to take. For example if your 4 selections are 8.0/8.0/8.0/8.0 and the current Betfair was 7.8/7.8/7.8/7.8 then you would have value, but much of the time the final BSP of these runners is something like 7.0/9.0/10.5/8.0 meaning you have ever worse value. how do you pick runners that wont drift against you?

I was doing a bit of horse betting and I find that in Ireland a lot off the time there are a lot of withdrawn horses and the rule four deductions come into play in lots of times. It is as if trainers do it on purpose to aid the betting industry. Almost as if they are in cahoots with bookies. In fact I think this happens in the UK as well. And its to rip off the morning punters slashing the odds and taking away any value and decreasing the bets returns. I get the fact going is generally the reason given but that is a lame excuse at best as most horses run on different surfaces in there career. I think trainers should be heavily fined and not some slap on the wrist £5000 + and the horse banned from racing for about 3 months to stop the hoodwinking occurring. The best thing to do is wait till about an hour before racing before betting in accumulated bets, yes horse odds will come in but how often do gambled on horses win very seldom.

There's no value in messing around in the morning looking for a point here and there and seeing them go down the pan - which most of them will. And that formbook is a bookie's delight too.

what I would like to know is why here in Ireland you take the odds and if the odds come in bigger you get the bigger odds but in England you do not you ....

Most bookies in Ireland you cant take better odds anymore, including Ladbrokes and paddy power, only Boyle sports you get better price

I'm about 60% on my bets right now and a sharp is apparently 55% or better. I did my first lucky 15 bet ever yesterday and won the whole thing. I just wish I had big money to bet with instead of the small $100> bets I place, then I'd have made crazy bank already.

Would be a helpful video with more explanation on what exactly you look for when picking the selections. Otherwise you are sending people out to back Lucky 15s hoping the odds go off shorter without much guidance...which is what the bookies do.

What do you think of the more exotic shop only bets bookies do not promote like 2 selection SSA, DSA, or 3 selection BANKO bets that pay more than patent for same stake..
