One thing I want to say . Yes the airports have places to exchange money and yes you will need php right away for the transportation but do not exchange too much at airport because the rate at the airport is not good . Much better rates outside the airports . Do not worry exchange places all over the place

A 1000php pesos is just as hard to make to an American trying too make a $1000. The pesos economy will have an average foreigner broke because we think were getting deal which things are cheap 🤔 but live here for a while it will teach you not to spend on dumb stuff like alot of expats do. Always ask the money changer for 50, 100, 200 and 500 pesos banknotes.
After using an ATM outside a bank, ask the security guard if you can go inside to change the 1000 pesos banknotes you got from the ATM.
Inside the bank they have a drawer full with 50, 100, 200 and 500 pesos banknotes.
