Stuart Zender is pretty much THE pivotal groov bass player of the last 35 years. Drawing on all his influences, he consolidated the modern funk bass style, simlessly combining fingerstyle, slap, vibrato, disco octaves, shadowing melody lines; AND making damn sure all that shit was way up front in the mix.

One of my all time favourite album's. I fell in love with it at age 14, and at 37 I STILL love it today.

I grew up listening to JK's music 24 hours a day. Thank you for bringing happiness into my life! When I was studying in London, I listened to JK's music on the underground and bus every day. and I had the same childhood memories and life as you. I pray every day that our tears will disappear completely.

I like how every album gives of a different vibe: Emergency is about delivering a message and good vibe, Space cowboy is for chilling out, Travelling and Dynamite are for fun in the sun, Synkronized is for watching the view and the wonders of the world, RLDS is for long trips, and Funk Odyssey and Automaton are for annihilating the dance floor.

When Travelling w/o moving got big in 97 here in the US, I had a BMG subscription and bought every Jamiroquai album I could get my hands on. Those were the days...

Many Japanese funk/jazz influences, I think they were a great influence for the band or for Jay at that time. Paradisiac music, and this band recreated it even better ♥ the best example is "Music of the Mind", a lot of similar elements.

Listen to some albums of those artists bands too! They are about 20 years before Jamiroquai.
