Installing an optional CW or SSB filter in a Kenwood TS 480

How to install the optional YF-107SN, YF107-C or YF-107CN filters in a Kenwood TS480SAT or HX.

I've a lot of these "budget" TCXO's on Ebay and so far people seem to be very happy with them. In fact, I'm gonna order one after this for my TS-480. Oddly, the $14 TCXO auctions never seem to indicate it can also be used with the TS-480. They always state they're for the TS-590, so it's good to hear they are indeed compatible with the TS-480. I kinda figured they were, as an SO-3 is an SO-3 regardless of who makes it. Great video - thanks a bunch :)

Install first the CW filter, than the SSB filter, it dont works ?Think first is the SSB filter

Any equivalent filters for cw? Can’t seem to find one anywhere

Many thanks Connor for a very useful explanation in your video. I have just ordered one of the last (if NOT the very last) 500hz filter in the UK. Origial prices of the filter were ridiculous, fortunatley I seem to have been successful in getting a bargain.I find that the 480sat is so easily drenched in signal overflow in CW mode it really need this filter. Thanks Conor, great to see a radio amateur that can use a soldering iron instead of moaning the filters are not plug in types.
