Who ever owned that guitar loved it enough to give some great aftermarket upgrades, Sperzels only come stock on ESP USA, Custom (when requested) and Signature models (if spec'd by the artist) over the E-IIs, which roll with Gotoh (still great locking tuners). Never dealt with those EMGs but have heard they're in a love/hate category- you either love 'em or scramble to replace 'em, I'd love to try them myself over the HZ stuff. In other news- ESP has since unloaded most of the 1000-series line from Korea's World Instruments factory (although they still produce the high-end LTD stuff) over to their Indonesian facilities due to the increased costs (my guess with the recent CITES changes) due to the fluctuating Korean economy.

They also stated that their Indonesian factories are now on par with the same quality as their Korean counterparts, which helps keep their costs down and affordable in the typical 1000-series price ranges. I don't have any experience with any of the new lines coming out of there in the 2017/2018 manufacturing dates so maybe somebody here can enlighten us to their quality. That being said, I've never had a problem with the Korean made instruments and consider them worth what they go for and you can snag Korean made LTDs for a decent price at this point.

I consider this guitar on par with a Gibson les Paul custom and honestly think it’s nicer than even a les Paul standard. You don’t get abalone inlays on just a normal les Paul standard and I’ve rarely ever even seen it on a les Paul custom

Hi bro, nice guitar you got there! I've recently got exactly the same guitar except for the humbucker EMG's (mine comes with active EMG 81/81)... I do have a quick question as this information is not easy to find, do you know why your guitar serial has an "R" at the start? as I can see it's made in Korea and the serial number for those guitars starts with "W"... As I know those that starts with "R" are very special but I don't know why :( thanks in advance

The abalone around the neck and body is what I believe to be called purfling.
