Can You Dye with Dried Dandelion Root?

Apparently dandelions give you a yellow color. That's what I've seen floating around the internet anyway. Dandelions were out of season and I wasn't in the foraging mood so I got some dandelion root tea wondering if it would also give me yellow.

The color was basically nonexistent. So stay tuned because this year I'll be foraging some actual dandelions and we'll see how that works out!!

What color were you expecting or hoping for. I just pull the little buggers out of my yard; roots, stems, and flowers. Give them a wash and get various shades of yellow. Everytime.
