Biden's Electric Vehicle Plan Just Got REJECTED

We have been waiting for this day, as President Trump’s Environmental Protection Agency, headed by Lee Zeldin, began the process of rescinding vehicle fuel efficiency standards that Republicans have called a de facto “electric vehicle mandate. Biden's electric vehicle mandate has been removed.

An EPA official stated this past week that dozens of additional regulatory rollbacks were started on what would be “the biggest day of deregulation in American history.” Zeldin announced this afternoon that the EPA would be initiating 31 specific actions to unleash American energy, lower the cost of living, boost the domestic auto industry, and give more power back to the states. The administrator described it as the “greatest day of deregulation our nation has seen.”

The first step is through the Administrative Procedures Act, the EPA is re-evaluating policies enacted last year by the Biden administration meant to reduce emissions for light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles. This would have increased the costs of shipping goods. The estimated regulatory and compliance costs with the current rules is over $700 billion. These costs cause inflation and would be passed on to the consumer.

Get rid of CARB and the California DMV. Everything on our Deisel engine trucks has been so expensive to fix, and it's not the engine itself, it's all the EPA/CARB mandated sensors, DEF, Filters and all Post combustion nonsense, that chokes the heck out of the engine and cause so much more damage to business by passing this cost on to the customer!

One reason why cars are so expensive is the automakers have jacked up prices on gasoline cars to make up for the money they are losing on electric vehicles.

Dissolve CARB and follow EPA.

We don't need 2 environmental protection agencies - it's wasteful. Federal law for all 50 states and keep it simple.

Eliminate SMOG checks as it is nothing more than a money grab, and loosen the emissions laws to help foster affordable vehicle pricing while improving reliability.

CARB has run its course. In the last 25 years it has stifled automotive progression, added new taxes and financial burdens on the citizens of California, and has overstepped its authority alongside EPA against the American people. I firmly believe that the 'new' EPA is for the people and for the new administration. I sincerely hope that the presidential administration and the EPA will, in a sense, rescue all Californians and many more Americans throughout the country.

We are struggling to just get by.

Roll back defecting cars for ABS or AirBag lights particularly if:

1) They were an option back in the day
2) There are legally driving cars without ABS or Air Bags
3) When manufacturer is not mandated to keep supplying the parts
4) These vehicles are already 25 years or older

Mandating the above without any mandates on manufacturers supplying the parts, making them available for manufacture by 3rd parties and making the parts affordable is a corrupt and underhand way of forcing people to junk the cars for the pursuit of profits (forcing people to buy).
