Today on The Sword and The Trowel, Tom Ascol and Jared Longshore welcome Dr. Voddie Baucham into the studio for a special two part show on the catastrophic state of Evangelicalism. In this first part, they discuss where the fault lines lie, the hypocrisy of certain Christian leaders and CRT/I as a boogeyman.

IMO, Voddie is the Charles Spurgeon of the 21st Century. I cannot wait to see him at the G3 Conference. Hands down my favorite preacher because he is unapologetically a man of God that does not mince words. Robert Coleman in his book The Master Plan of Evangelism, last paragraph of one his chapters (paraphrase) says that we do not need any new programs but MEN that will stand up for the Word of God and preach the WHOLE counsel of God. It is as Paul said, Voddie’s hands will be innocent of the blood that will come on those that do not repent of their sins and believe.

Thank you Pastor Voddie for Naming Names, I am so tired of hearing the Under Shepard’s, Not Warning the Sheep. They like to say we don’t want to name names, I often wonder how the Sheep are supposed to find out who the Wolves are.

I am a Freewill Baptist pastor and obviously we have points of disagreements but we have more in common than not and would not separate over that but what is being said is several years ago they failed to separate from those that did not believe in the true Jesus and now we are seeing the end result. And I enjoy hearing Brother Vodie He is one of the great theologians of our time

To not call out heresy is to become a heretic right?

Searched for “Fault Lines” everywhere in AZ, couldn’t find it in book stores and ended up buying it on Amazon. JMac’s books are nowhere to be found either at Barnes. They had 1 book.

I can tell they still haven't fixed that guest chair situation because I know how big Voddie is but here he looks the same size as Tom and Jared. Hahaha!

I think the thing I’m taking away from this episode is how vital it is for those on the right side of the fault line to be Kingdom Builders! It’s so important that we are proactive rather than reactive.

A pastor is afraid to "offend" and talks in private? Why ? What is Christian about it ? What is Christian about being a coward ? Courage and wisdom are weapons from God and we have to use them.

Amen The word of God says you can’t eat at the table of God and if The devil. Also two cannot walk together lest they be in agreeance. The word of God in 2nd Timothy 2:24-26 we are to share the word bring reproof etc that we can give them a chance through repentance to be saved Amen.

Not that it's "good" to know about Barnes & Noble, but I'm grateful to know this about Barnes & Noble and Lifeway, not surprisingly, which will not be receiving any more of my business. I realized a long time ago that Barnes & Noble does not carry any "religious" books in which I would have any interest whatsoever. And thank you for mentioning Tim Keller: my former OPC lecturer in Crystal Lake, Illinois idolizes him. And not wanting to "offend" is the key word here: my former OPC lecturer would wet his diapers before he would ever dare "offend" anyone, which de facto means that he does not preach the gospel and is ashamed of it. And Tom Ascol is right on, as usual, about biblical courage and rationalizations. And a conversation worth continuing: what a concept--there was never anything but inoffensive, superficial, worldly small talk in the OPC.

Reading FaultLines, it gave me THE COURAGE to be true to my heart, the Gospel, and my community. I will not shy away from these conversations with people anymore because I’m not being honest. It was a amazing read, very well laid out, broke down the histories of CRT and the damage it has brought on (not that it’s not evident)
CRT is unbiblical, plain and simple. Romans 8:16, Romans 14, and Genesis 1:26
“Let us make Man in OUR image” we are all of God, and from God, and we all LOOK like God, HE is every shade, everywhere and everything!

Voddie is right. It's often about relationships. Al Mohler in one of the Shepherd's Conference panels more or less said as much.
