Apple's Tim Cook dedicates the new Steve Jobs Theater (CNET News)

At the first major event on Apple's new campus, CEO Tim Cook became emotional as he dedicated the theater to his predecessor.

How nice it is to hear Steve's voice once more. I constantly watch old key notes. He was so funny, so innovative and so happy to launch new products, sharing his vision of the future. He is what inspired me to love technology and apple. Rest in peace.

All the comments down here talking about how Steve would be so upset at Apple are, honestly, quite disrespectful. Regardless of the company, regardless of the person, regardless of your own personal opinions, Steve Jobs was an incredible man that changed the future as we saw it then. His devices were state of the art, and the best phone you could possibly get back in 2007 was the iPhone. Now we have Samsung, Google, and a whole slew of others, and even though Apple still has a huge grasp on the market, there are others who grasp just as much space.

Even though you might think Apple isn't the best company, or Android phones are better, or whatever your personal opinion, you need to realize one thing: Steve Jobs was a revolutionary, and he meant a lot to some people, especially the staff at Apple. To you, he just made a phone. To Tim and others, he was a friend who cared not only about how people experienced his product, but also how he helped the world. The money of course meant something to him, just as money means a lot to us, but that was at the bottom of his priorities. This speech was amazing, and the way Apple opened the theater was definitely deserved by Steve. He would be proud of where Apple has come, regardless of what the products are like today. I, personally, love their products, but that is not my point.

My point is this: Regardless of your opinion, have some respect for one of the many people who changed the world and helped make it what it is today. Steve Jobs was an incredible man with an incredible heart.

It was so right to hear his voice at a keynote again! I miss seeing him onstage at Apple events. He was such a great speaker and no one matches him in their new line up of presenters. The best one they have now is Craig Federighi.
