How to get from Stockholm Arlanda Airport to Stockholm Central using the Arlanda Express Train

I use the Arlanda Express every time I’m in Stockholm. A few years back they used to have famous Swedish people like Stellan Skarsgård making the announcements.

I'm slightly late to this video but still: Arlanda actually has three stations, but Arlanda Express only calls at two of them (North and South). The third one (Arlanda Central) is what all trains except Arlanda Express uses e.g. the commuter and inter-city trains. It lies on the through-line between Stockholm and Uppsala whereas the north and south stations lie on a branch line that terminates just north of the north station.

I visited Stockholm in July 2023 but used the Vy Flygbussarna (Coach).

Return tickets cost/journey times:
Arlanda Express: 640 SEK (£47) and 18 minutes.
Communter trains: 440 SEK (£32) and 38 minutes.
Vy Flygbussarna: 209 SEK (£15) and 45 minutes.

It's worth noting the Arlanda Express is a fixed price service where the busy times subsidize the quiet times.

I had a look at the Arlanda Express as you can ride it for free between terminals, but I eneded up taking the coach and saved £32 :D

The normal train is much better – a lot less money and you get to meet some real Swedish people and not a load of tourists.
