1.69 v/s 1.80 Powerglide Planetary Transmission is Assembled

Transmission is back together. Hopefully this planetary holds up as good as the other one. W’s are switching to 1.69 from a 1.80. This should be a little better on the tire, and hopefully we will not spin!

Weld it up. That's always the best route. Pin it, weld it, stake it, lock tite, whatever it takes.

Good luck John!! Can't believe it's War in the woods time already!!! I still haven't been able to contact Jeff... Like I've said before, he never returns my calls! Keeps to himself. I miss talking to him!!! See ya man! ✌😎

The trans is looking great. Hopefully everything is working right and you'll be able to race Saturday. It definitely sucks that Mike's engine is that busted up. Wishing him the best

Good to see the power glide going back together. Sucks the Mopar gods are being so hard on him

1.69 all day long. You can leave on more rpm and boost without upsetting the tire on a bad track and usually 60ft at least as well as with 1.80's, only the 1.80's won't be nearly as consistent.

Its called the internal gear. The middle gear is the sun, the gears on the pinion shafts are planetary gears and the gear on the outside of the planetaries is called the internal gear.

Do you adjust the band the first 3-4 runs when you put a new one on?

Urs is going to be fine I’m sure what they did was pressed the gear thru the cover

question guys, i have a rebuild powerglide, I stall it in the car and was installing the drive shaft. I was trying to spend the drive shaft to tighten up the ujoint boits, but the drive shaft was hard to spend. Should it be free to spend by the drive shaft? what could be the problem, Thanks for your help.

Be careful about (the thought of spot welding), the 1.69 sun gear, it looked to me like they machined out the back side of the one they spot welded for clearance, like they replaced the sun gear in that housing, and the 1.69 does not look as deep within the ridge where those 4 spot welds are located. Just saying I see a difference in the video when side by side.

TJ LOVE THAT U DO ALL UR OWN 🔧 ON THE SHIT U CAN DO but if u wanna optimize ur combo u need to know how everything works its a hella alot to take in but it will help u long run when u need to find. A tenth to feel good in finals IMHO like Bill from Old Mans he forgot more than ive learned so far🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Ouch, so sry Mike, dang...and it still ran, LS Strong! 426 Wedge motor time, or Hemi Mopar or no cars just do not like Cheby engines. Your car, your build bro, just Joslin with ya, sad to hear the news for you, that is a lot of damage.
