Great review Andy! You touched on something in a previous video that I have said for years. Moving our 12ftlb limit up to 18ftlb would make the discussion off 22 vs 177 null and void. At 18ftlb the trajectory of both is lovely and flat, retains plenty of energy up to 75yrds, and more importantly isn't effected as much by the wind. All resulting in cleaner kills! Real question, would you and the other youtuber (giles) be willing to start a petition to get it changed to 18ftlb? Great channel by the way👍

Had to go looking for you this morning, tech issues? I've been round the block a few times 🤣but keep coming back to .177 for accuracy and stopping power! Keep safe all👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I've had a few .22 but now having got an r10th in the .177 with the hades it's a game changer the accuracy amazed me really good videos

Excellent and very informative thanks Andy

.177 has a flatter trajectory, I've dropped gophers in my garden with the caliber at 30 yards no joke. Dropped and dead headshots penetrating clean and completely through the head.

It's a known fact that Northern pigeons have a suit of ballistic armour beneath their feathers. Hard as nails. They nut .22 pellets for fun and .177 merely tickle them.

Thanks again Andy...I've found myself looking forward to Fridays now for new videos. I lowered the power some on my Urban .22 and picked up the accuracy greatly. Using inexpensive Crossman Premier Hollow Points 14.3 gr I am getting TINY groups at 40 meters (131 feet). If the pest is closer, I just lower the cross-hairs slightly and have had great success. ~ Ga USA

Great job Andy.
The .177/.22 calibre debate has gone on for years, and will no doubt continue for many more. (Ignoring FAC stuff.)
I think your conclusion is spot on. If I go Rat blatting with NV, or wacking Squirrels on the feeder, the .22 is always my go to. Sniping Rabbits or Pigeons out to 40/50 yards it's the .177.
If only I could get hold of a Daystate Huntsman Classic in .20, my armoury would be complete!
Sage advice as always matey!

It really doesn't matter in the hands of someone who shoots well.
Shot placement is and always will be the most important factor. A ice pick may be small compared to a broad sword. But a ice pick piercing the heart, is still a death blow. 🎯

Great review as always, I have both .177 and .22 rifles, but I wish there was a greater rang of pellets in .20 as I feel it is a fantastic alternative.

Where I live for our pests which are big we use 22lr and 223 Remington air guns are a little small

great video
it's a shame that here in the UK were governed like naughty little kids and can only have 12ft lbs I think if we could have it raised to 18ft lbs we'd have a lot more options at our disposal
I'm not into massive powers like our cousins across the pond I can't see the point of hitting a squirrel with 100ft lbs. it is interesting to watch them doing pest control though and I can see why they have higher powers when taking on the likes of raccoons and skunks
I just feel if we in the UK had those extra few ft lbs we could reach out a little further
I own a 177 pcp Gamo Coyote and it's pretty awesome with pellet on pellet accuracy which is awesome for pest control
I also have a Remington warhawk 22 which I had last year due to your review on this channel I haven't been out much shooting with this only in the garden but it is quite accurate and can't wait to get to the club and stretch it's legs to see what it can do

Thanks for the clear explanations. I however think you didn’t introduce a key factor which is WIND. Normally the heavier the pellet, the less affected by wind. And in windy conditions for me this is more important than the arc factor.

Hi Andy. Please find a .20 gun less than 700 pounds. One in sub 12 fpe and one in FAC and try some "good" pellets and do a video as great as we all are familiar with ❗️
Greeting from Norway👍

177. and 22. are all accurate with the right shooter and will perform well with short or longer distances and will depend on how far your knocking them pest's down its really that simple
