This is part 2 of our day fishing with Capt Ryan of Good Karma sport fishing in Tavernier, Florida. Tavernier is in the Florida Keys and has some of the best snapper and grouper fishing in Florida! I made a fish head soup using the remains from mutton snapper, mangrove snapper, yellowtail snapper and black grouper!

To make fish head soup:

1. Make sure fish carcass and head is cleaned thoroughly, descaled and all gills blood removed. Add some olive oil to a pot and cook fish remains for few minutes over medium heat. Add enough water to cover your fish.
2. Add veggies and herbs if your choice. I used celery, parsley, garlic, thyme, black peppercorns and onion.
3. Bring to a boil reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour. Strain stock through sieve. Pick off any fish from bones and set aside.
4. 4. Bring strained stock back to boil, add potatoes over medium heat. Cook for 10 min. Add diced, carrot, parsnip, leek, celery, and other veggies of your choice. Cook until soft. Add 1 can diced tomatoes. Either season with vegeta seasoning to taste or add salt to taste.
5. Serve soup with set aside fish!

That Fish Soup sure had some vibrant colors and as far as the taste goes I know it was excellent. I am from the Caribbean and Fish Soup is a favorite of ours. Great Job Vic and Brook also best comment from ur Gramma. I had to LOL also.

vegeta can be found in many russian/international stores. my parents are from Belarus and vegeta is litterly in every one of our meals. it’s delicious to sprinkle it on avocados and sunny side eggs.

I want to thank you for showing this. I get really depressed, even angry, when I see anglers throw the carcass and heads away. Not only is it delicious, I think in this day and age of scarce resources and environmentalism, we have a duty to use THE WHOLE FISH.

That fish head soup sure looked very tasty, I am from the Pacific Island of Palau and fish heads are never discarded..there's so many ways of cooking it, but i will surely try and recreate yours to try. Big ups and keep them vids coming!!!

There is a version of white soup, you fry the fish with ginger, use peanut oil. then splash water in the pan, use cold water, fried fish will give you white soup, the rest is the same. It taste a lot richer than the clear one. Same fish, same veg, different taste.
