The most hated watch brand in the community? Hublot is a Swiss watch brand founded in 1980. The name in French translates to “Porthole” and it’s easy to see why based on their design language. In 2008, the luxury conglomerate LVMH acquired Hublot, and a few years later, industry-veteran Jean-Claude Biver took charge of watchmaking for LVMH overseeing Hublot, TAG Heuer, and Zenith.

Thomas: you win a gold star for being very diplomatic and measured with your words. I can’t imagine any reason for Chrono24 to discuss Hublot in a video except to fire people up and increase the engagement ratings for the channel. And that’s OK. But it def reduces credibility a bit.

No Hublot here .... But before I knew it existed (2005). I bought a RENATO Wildebeest chrono. Which turned out to be a Quartz (ETA - G10) homage of a Hublot !. My Renato was Rosetone (plated) with a Silvertone Carbon Fiber Dial. Daniel Mink ( aka Daniel Minkowitz) was the head of the Company, proud to say that the Rubber Strap was the finest available at the time - as It was made from PU 70. Anyway, It set me back $250. The Rosetone plating has held up very well. With No signs of wear. And It's been reliable ever since ... No regrets.

Hublot spirit of Big Bang is an amazing piece specially in rosegold. Very very stunning

The only thing I liked about Hublot is that they reproduced the Anticythere machine as well as making watches with this mechanism added on them. The Anticythere machine is an astronomical calendar that is entirely mechanical and was made in Ancient Greece, do some research on it, it's a very impressive horological feat.

Like the design of Hublot to some extend, but in my opinion the ratio of value for money is just not good, given the type of movements used in their lower end product range. On can spend less and still get better alternatives.

Thomas, GREAT channel and content. During this video, you made mention that the "large watch trend" peaked in the early 2000s. One of us owns an 18K Cartier Tank purchased in 1990. Back then, it was a normal sized watch. Compared to contemporary timepieces, however, it looks small. Should it be put away in the hopes that a future (as yet unborn) granddaughter would graduate with an advanced degree and receive it as an heirloom gift or can a man still wear it? We welcome comments from everyone that cares to do so.

One think is 100% shore, Hublot invest big money and made great collection in partnership with Ferrari!
They made the best Ferrari timepice from MP to 1. Unico inhouse movement which is 1. time presented in Ferrari collection!
I have posibility to have in my hands few Hublot timepices, but Ferrari carbon with red saphire was very cool, chronograph pusher are soft and easy on touch..quickly change bracellet sistem is great…
If You look Ferrari was in partnership with Panerai, Cartier, RM, GP…but hublot made the best collection in honor to Ferrari..

Some very nice designs with Hublot - I love the look of the Big Bang. It costs whatever the market will bear, so I don’t understand the assessment that they are overpriced. Watches are overpriced relative to their utility in general. Focus on making money, and then buy whatever makes you happy. Only weak minds look for validation from people who are making money off of the weak minds. Imagine hating something just because a loud mouth YouTuber doesn’t like it.
