Ending human aging is actually kind of a horrific concept. It will surely be something very expensive that only the world's elite rich will be able to afford (and they'll likely want to keep it that way). Imagine global society not ruled by merely an elite, but by the ultra wealthy who have artificially prolonged their lives so they can hoard wealth and rule the world for literal generations as immortal God-moguls.

The Jetsons promised me futuristic stuff like this decades ago. We're taking too long.

I don’t want to live forever, jeez I can hardly be bothered with the normal lifespan I’m in right now !!

We are overthinking the water problem to mars. We just got to use a really long water hose from earth 😂

Remember in 2012, Mars One said they would be sending normal human beings to Mars by 2020 but it turned out to be a huge scam??

ikr it feels like science kinda slowed down a bit cos I legit thought we should have had a lot more medical breakthroughs by now 😢

AI isn't any closer to self awareness now than it was 40 years ago. Modern AI is frankly misnamed, it's not intelligent at all. It's just complicated maths being used to do interesting stuff involving pattern matching and analysis to process images and language. Might as well expect a normal calculator to gain sentience, they're functionally the same thing, just one is much more complicated than the other. We're still a long way away from a computer program that can truly develop sentience.

To use a metaphor, regular computers are like bacteria, and modern AI is like simple multicellular life such as worms. We are still a VERY long way away from humans.

That pipe-net sounds like the transport tubes on Futurama.

I fear death, so I hope for something that could extend my life by many years.

Aging, laugh lines are a badge of a life lived. Aside from actors who depend on their appearance for work, I don't understand why people don't embrace their war scars!

Honestly I think that age stopping thingy is gonna lead to some real issues down the road. Overpopulation being the major one, they better make sure that, they terraform another planet real soon.
Can you imagine you stuck with a boss that doesnt retire lol. Nightmare I tell you

Whoever sees this, report any porn bot you see as if they’re the undead! YT only removes a select few because all they care about is money, damn those who speak out against porn bots.

I mean if the aging process is slowed enough to prolong life until the aging process is nullified then all scientific breakthroughs will be within our lifetimes as long as we don’t die to any of the other billion things that could still kill us.

OMG I sure hope Nuerolink isn't doing human trials already. As recently as a year ago its primate trials were killing chimpanzees!

Come on man, who cares about Higgs bosons or gravitational waves? What I really wanted was a *flux capacitor* — to be inevitably followed by time-traveling DeLoreans, flying trains, flying cars fueled by literal garbage etc. But we didn't even get *hoverboards.* I'd even settle for a *_Matrix_** style recliner chair* where I can learn new skills overnight. But instead, here I am, watching disappointing videos while taking a break from online AI courses, panicking that I'm getting left behind by technology.

1) Maybe not try to inhabit Mars before we have had sufficient practice on Luna. The moon is a better testing ground, as it has more extreme conditions: lower gravity, scarcer resources (including water), higher amounts of solar radiation, and much less atmosphere. By practicing on Luna we can create habitats, construction techniques, and general protocols that would make surviving on Mars long-term easy in comparison, and moon bases would be easier to communicate with. Learn to walk before you try to run.
2) We don't need extended lifespans as much as we need extended youth. What is the point of an extra 10 years of geriatric fragility? Increase the quality of life, not its quantity. Also, no way what is described will happen in 10 years; 20 years at the earliest.
3) Dude, that is just an upscaled pneumatic tube system. Just because it won't use compressed air doesn't mean you aren't just making a bigger version of something we already have. Plus, it was already speculated back in the 60's that something like that would exist in the future of the year 2000.

Be careful folks of these kind of predicted timelines, as they are clearly based in high-grade optimism. Never underestimate the science-hampering effects of incompetent and scientifically illiterate politicians, obstructionistic corporations that benefit from the status quo, the disrupted capabilities of natural disasters and international conflicts, and the fact that quality, well-researched, ethically-produced scientific experimentation and innovation requires time to achieve.
