Mr Beast's OBSESSION With PewDiePie

Mr Beast has had a long time obsession with PewDiePie which will ultimately lead to him dethroning Felix as the Number 1 most subscribed YouTube Channel.

PewDiePie is pretty much retired at this point. He no longer cares about his numbers and is just enjoying his life. People don’t give him enough credit tho as he was able to navigate YouTube for 10 years and keep his channel relevant throughout all that. The fact that he wasn’t afraid to take risks and was constantly re-inventing his channel content and staying one step ahead of the trends - is so impressive.

Felix also went a decade doing daily uploads and never missing a beat. That amount of dedication is insane. And yet he did all this by just being one man in front of a camera making entertainment in the form of old YouTube.

I like Mr Beast, but on some level its kind of sad that the platform now requires someone to blow $5-10 million dollars an upload just to be the #1 channel. While Jimmy is also impressive (his film crew, production studio, and massive sets) - its also basically Hollywood. He’s like an independent Hollywood where he MUST put on a major spectacle to get viewers. He had to literally give money away to get attention.

What i will say tho, Jimmy has done an incredible job monetizing his success with various revenue outlets. His charity and social causes are amazing as well. So he does deserve credit.

I just feel a bit sad for PewDiePie because i feel like he’s slowly being forgotten and is pretty much the death old YouTube and the spirit of what the platform originally was meant to be.

But lets be real YouTube is basically becoming the new basic cable with Google pushing major corporations. So at least Mr Beast will continue to dominate them. But i will always have more respect for PewDiePie as he reached 111 million subs without having to pay viewers, and blowing millions of dollars on movie level productions. What he did was truly incredible. And id argue Felix at his peak was more entertaining than Mr Beast. Only so many giveaway challenges I can watch before its all starting to blend together and feel like a Nickelodeon gameshow.

for me, pewdiepie is the guy who beat the game, he finished the story quest, all the side quests, collected all the items and faced all the strongest bosses. Now he's just playing the game for the fun of it

Its crazy how just a few years ago I saw Mr Beast as just the guy who makes videos on the worst intros and was only sitting at 250K subs. I never really thought he would get to this point, so it's crazy to see how times have changed.

I agree with a lot of what you said in this video. I respect Jimmy to the highest degree, but he doesn’t feel like a true blue YouTuber anymore. He’s all about the system and being A1 on the platform, and while that brings him a lot of success, I feel like those who swing away at YouTube because they like making videos and sharing them are more YouTuber-like than Jimmy if that makes any sense.

Again, hats off to Jimmy, he’s a wonderful charitable man, but at this point he’s more of a corporation than a YouTuber.

Pewds will always be #1 to me. His channel is just him being him, and with just Sive by his side to edit, everything is all Felix all the time. Jimmy is building a MrBeast empire no doubt, but it takes a literal village and millions of dollars to do it. MrBeast makes a hamburger by creating a restaurant chain where as Pewds has Marzia film him frying meat in their kitchen using a spoon. I love and can connect with Felix, and watch every video, but I rarely, almost never ever watch MrBeast...it's just too overproduced and mainstream.

Obviously, Mr Beast is the top creator but I can see his respect for PewDiePie. You have to respect the guy. He hit milestones and has been on top for a long time, as far as a content creator goes at least. He paved the way.It would be rough to pass the person you looked up to for so long but not many can do what Jimmy is doing, and he is too obsessed to be the best. I think we need some PewDiePie and Mr Beast collabs.

I am not gonna subscribe to Mr.Beast but I do respect the grind, the effort and the content that he makes even if I am not really that into it. I can tell that he does want to come on top but still wants to be PewDiePie's equal, but ya know some records just have to be broken and there's no denying Mr.Beast is gonna surpass PewDiePie at some point in time.

I just hope Mr.Beast won't fall from grace and hopefully represents YouTubers/Content Creators and not the corporate entity that is YouTube.
