I studied abroad in Spain and felt very similarly - as I understood Spanish in writing, reading, listening, far more than the actual speaking! It’s the part is the language puzzle that always comes last- best of luck to you!

This is so relatable! Just moved to a new city and having to go out of my way to make friends is a weird situation to be in. Like your friend said, I'm sure you're going to flourish and have a great time.

I am a Taiwanese transfer student in Montpellier, and today is a day when my mood is all messed up by the French bureaucratic procedures. Seeing your video reminds me again how lucky I am to be in a foreign city and I should turn my focus to the beauties of everyday life. Thank you! (And I’ll definitely visit Valencia and all cities in the south of Europe soon!)

I'm moving from Spain to France in 3 days, and I'm going to miss Mercadona so much. Enjoy the Erasmus, it such an incredible experience.
buyum.
I am sure that you will adapt perfectly, you seem like a fun and outgoing woman and you will have no problems. One piece of advice, try to meet native people in addition to the friendships you can make with your Erasmus classmates, the natives will show you surprising things that no one else could show you and your knowledge of Spanish will increase by 1000%. Enjoy your stay in my country. Here a new subscriber to follow your adventures 😂

Hi Eloise!
I lived in VLC for a couple of months and you defs need to go to El Palmer for the best bestest sunsets and also the paella there is unreal! My bf and I used to drive there but there's a bus too :) For food there's a place called Mercabanyal which gives really cool market vibes with different stalls--super vibey. Soana is great for a cheap-ish chic 3 course meal (but book in advance).
Erasmus day trips to Montanejos, Chuilla etc are a great way to see the see the nearby areas, get into nature and make friends!
La Turia is great for running and biking if that's your thing. If you can I would highly recommend watching a football match there. It's not insanely expensive like in the UK if you buy tickets early and the atmosphere is insane
Wishing you all the best on your new chapter! <3 I lived in France before VLC too so I would sometimes speak French at Mercadona by accident loooollll. If you need any more recs, tips etc lemme know xoxo

Omg, so true! The more I immerse into Spanish, the less I feel that I know, lol. Putting together a simple sentence can be tragic for me, even if I can watch full Spanish vlogs and understand. It’s very interesting, practicing speaking is a must :)
