Used my university email for student discounts for about 10 years after graduation until they finally deleted my account. Never attested that I was a student or used a fake email, just provided my actual student email. And since it took nearly 10 years to pay off my student debt I'd call that perk well earned.

You'd be surprised what kinds of boundaries you're willing to cross when you're broke and starving.

There was a gaming chain, whatever purchase you did online, you would earn reward points. You could buy online gift vouchers, then use the gift voucher you purchased to buy more gift vouchers, all whilst earning reward points.

So I set up a basic macro to click through everything, and it would purchase a £50 voucher, then use the £50 voucher to purchase another one. Each time earning 25 loyalty points (£2.50). I kept this macro running all day, and by the next day I had 36, 000 points on my account. I used these to buy a PS4, gaming PC, new TV, gaming laptop, a desk and chair. and a few other things.

My account was shut down however they did honour the purchases I made as it didnt go against their terms and conditions at the time. Trying it again you didnt earn loyalty points on the gift voucher purchases

Local college keeps your student email address active for 2 years after you stop taking classes. College also refunds your entire class fee minus a $35 fee if you drop the class before the semester starts. Needless to say, I've been a "student" there for almost 20 years now. The $35 every other year to enroll then drop a class as well as $15 for a student ID every 4 years is a small price to pay vs all the money I save on student discounts.

I tried to cancel a doctor's appointment during a sudden heavy snow storm. They said I would be hit with a fee for not showing up, there was also a cancelation fee. I asked to reschedule the appointment and their next appointment was in two weeks. I said sure give me that date. Then I asked them to cancel THAT appointment. Clerk was so mad. With the city pretty much shutting down due to the storm I lacked faith in their ability to care about anyone's health and wellbeing. Found a replacement that did video consultation.

The last one is "desperation with no help calls for doing what can be done" defined.

I once was on a field trip to this one star rated pizza place (the food sucked) that had an arcade. The school gave us these cards each with 80 points to play games with, but none of us had money to get more points from the machine in the corner if needed. Said machine was also how you checked the number of points on your card. When I went to go check, it was maybe 8 seconds after someone else had stopped using it, I swiped my card to see my balance. What I did not realize is that the previous person had been in the middle of purchasing $200 dollars' worth of points (aka a lot of points) that I had no way of returning, even if I knew who that person was or where they had gone. I did become the class cool kid for the day, though.

If your employee has to steal food, then you aren't paying the employee enough.

I ordered a logic analyzer and was shipped a 500Mhz 4-channel oscilloscope once. I didn’t complain at all.

Dude I worked in a papa John’s when I was in high school. At times I would pray that someone would never come to pick up their order cause I just hadn’t eaten that day yet and if the person didn’t get it within it being done in 2 hours then staff got free reign to eat as much of it as they wanted

Over 20 years ago, I ordered a 20GB hard drive from a supplier. This was for my birthday by the way. In error, they sent me a 200GB drive. I sent them a very nice thank you message.

Was stationed in South Korea, out processing was a pain in the ass usually because they wouldn't let you do "personal" things during work hours.
But the offices you needed to go to were only open during work hours.
On top of that, the base was huge and you needed to take a bus ride all the way to the main camp adding more time.
I drew battalion watch that day, it included use of a vehicle.
Outprocessed in 2 hours what usually takes days.
No shame, told relief Sargent at end of day formation.
His outrage seemed corked by his realization of how much time we're made to waste.
He kept repeating, "not even I...not even me...".

I used to work on the boardwalk as a teen and there was no free parking anywhere nearby. There was a park 5mins away with parking spots not marked with meters or any signs saying no parking. Used it all summer, the information center employees working there would leave notes saying you can’t park here, I would leave notes the following morning saying this is free parking. They could never legally stop me, just leave angry notes, and I saved probably $10 a day that whole summer parking there. It’s the small victories that count, especially when your 16 and broke

In the early 2000s my mom went to Home Depot and someone had put the wrong price on the large Kitchen Aid mixers, the price was off by a few hundred dollars. They fought her on it but in the end she walked away with a mixer priced lower than the smallest size.

Related too the first one:
Automatic ticket givers where you would need too pay on the way out but the first 30 min were free when walking back too my car I would stop by the ticket giver and just press the button and it would give me a free ticket then walk too my car and use that ticket instead of the first one I got when I actually parked my car

I used my college ID for discounts until I qualified for senior discounts. I did actually take college courses in my late 40's though. It wasn't the college ID from when I was an undergrad in my 20's.
