I doubt you guys will see this, im looking into some electrical work yada yada, , , they require DOT tests. I use my med card and I smoke once every week to two weeks. (Chrones and back pain) lol. But anyways, is a med card still not ok?? (In other words, does a med card alter my positive test)

I’m getting ready to take a dot physical test in two days I stop smoking maybe a week ago as soon as I got an offer I didn’t even apply but I’m still going for it but I been detoxing doing the ufc weight cut drinking water eating fruit thinking I would have to take a drug test and it’s just a physical and after watching your video ( which help me calm down because I was panicking the whole time until today) and realizing just being honest with them during the physical and the drug test will come later you are definitely a life saver

I've always had trouble with the cpap compliance. I'm glad they relaxed that. Because it never impaired my driving if i failed to use it a few days in a row. Ofcourse I'm a local driver so I'm never driving more than 2 hours at a time between stops.

What about a non cdl med card? Dr denied me because of a Stent I had back in 2011. Said now I need a stress test every year. I have no symptoms, BP good, no chest pain and no shortness of breath with exercise.

Sleep testing is not a requirement, nor is it legal to recommend testing, to pass a dot physical and receive a 1 or 2 year medical card. Law passed in 2013 that requires dot to either mandate testing via a regulation or to not do it at all. As of now 10/18/2024 they have not made that regulation. So if you're administering a dot physical, you can not require a driver to get a sleep test. That would be against the law.

A question about heart conditions. I had stents put in but I never had a heart attack. I had a thorough exam due to family history. As a result found a couple blockages and had them stented. Now dot requires I do a stress test every other year, even though my cardiologist cleared me for 5 yrs. Insurance will not cover this because my doctor did not order, nor deems necessary. Can I get the stress test dropped or at least stretched out to my doctors recommendation. Also I am in good physical health, and not overweight.
