Excellent. I have Fisher Cassette deck with analog meters. I like that Sony. I've liked vintage stuff before it was considered vintage.
Edit: I think that Sansui is awesome.

I wish people would send me free stuff to fix. Oh... they do. Never yet tried to work on a portable DAT machine, super-fiddly. I imagine that cassette unit will be less of a challenge though. I like the new intro sequence.

I remember a friend of mine had a Sansui just like the one you are going to be working on. Two of the 7189A's were red plating. I seem to remember replacing several coupling capacitors and some resistors. I think the tubes survived. This would have been around 1978 or 1979.

I don't see the problem. Someone pays out of their own pocket probably a decent amount of money to send you some free units, that they could have sold for a decent amount even broken, and you have to pay a relatively nominal fee to cover the customs and administration in getting it to you. Sure it would be lovely if you could bring stuff into the country for nothing, uk customs are jsut as bad. But you can't.

I really like these devices, I have a Panasonic Walkman that records the cassette at 8, 000hz sound quality, I took the head from another cassette recorder that records at 14, 000hz and installed it in the Panasonic Walkman but the quality remains at the same 8, 000hz what is this component in the circuit that can increase the recording frequency in a cassette recorder ??? I always wondered about it 🤔

I’m from the UK. We have UPS over here too explain to me what the hell you mean by broker fees because I have here if you get a parcel delivered by UPS the sender pays UPS for sending it and delivering it. The person receiving doesn’t get a bill unless they are the person that has brought the item and then if you buy an item you pay shipping anyway in the price so what is this extra fee that you are on about? That sounds like a very backward system? Am I guessing right that someone sent you an item via UPS and they don’t pay the senders fee i.e. they haven’t paid UPS for delivering it to you and then you have to pay for that cause here in the UK, you wouldn’t get your parcel sent unless you paid for it upfront they wouldn’t touch your parcel. They wouldn’t pick it up. They wouldn’t do anything if you didn’t pay in advanceplease explain.
