Window Regulator - Fix and Install

In 2014 the same plastic part broke on my GM Pontiac Grand Prix. It is the end piece of the window regulator track, the thing that moves the window up and down. It made a grinding noise and the window wouldn't move up or down. Luckily it didn't completely break off and i was able to fix it without having to spend $80 for a new window regulator.

You said something that was real in the winter”, that’s around the same time mine went out twice as well! Great video

You can get new regulators for $20-30 on ebay. When I bought my 2002 Lesabre 5 years ago, all 4 of the regulators were broken and I have had two more break since then.

All manufacturers have this issue though, not just GM. They use plastic because its cheap and has less friction. You'd think an aluminum pulley kit for $20 would sell better than having to warranty them out all the time.

Great video! My OEM replacement part is $200.... But what nobody will tell you is that if existing part is OEM, and has a motor, you can put the existing motor on a new track made for manual windows (OEM price $50). Or non OEM entire part $55. I'm trying to find a video on the motor transfer, if anyone knows.

This is really only a partial repair of a specific regulator. The title of the video therefore, is quite misleading.
