when I open login.php file with my chrome browser it shows me entire code rather then showing me the beautiful page I've created by following along what do I do?

I just cpompleted a previous tutorial and am starting out on this one, but I've noticed you don't use stylesheets. You put all your styling inside divs etc. Is there a reason for this because I find in easier and neater to use styles.css stored in a folder called css. I suppose it's just personal preference.
