Technically Puss does actually have kids, they're adopted and they are in the Puss in Boots: The Three Diablos short film. He teaches them how to commit crimes while still being morally lawful in a way. It's also where the Gatito knife is from, a nice reference.

Death isn’t really a bad dude in my opinion. He’s literally the embodiment of death. And life comes and goes for everything. And I like how death promised not to hurt puss when puss vowed to enjoy his life to the fullest
