August Burns Red are one of the few bands that can alter but remain loyal to their roots.

and i think that really adds to the band itself. Metal isn't about a look, or a personality, or necessarily even the sound. It's the emotion that drives it. By looking like an average person or neighbor, you get that welcome feel to the band, and the normal emotions that everyone deals with, but in a heavier style.

One of the best things about ABR, in my opinion, is their lack of a "look". Most metalcore and other heavy-style bands usually have a certain look to go with their sound, and ABR manages to give some of the best metalcore i've ever heard without a certain appearance.
