Basic Vocal EQ – This video is all about basic vocal EQ. EQ’ing vocals is so important in the mixing process and can make or break a track. There are certain vocal tones that are more common that we tend to find around a certain frequency range. The ranges given in this video are rough guidelines, where you find these tones will vary depending on your singer, but they should be around the general area stated.

This video looks at where to find these characteristics, how to sing with these tones, an analysis of the vocal tone, and how we can fix the problematic characteristics and add the advantageous tones to or vocals with EQ. It is aimed at beginner home producers, engineers and artists.

I love your videos and they have helped a lot, but I'm wondering why on the open vocal section you chose to use the low band frequency to boost at 6k and not the higher band since it wasn't being used.
