He said, "we don't want to be with tariffs". How does that say Trump has the right misson on trade?

Yes Trump has the right idea on trade: improve policy to level the playing field with partners/competitors. The problem for Trump, as always, has been in the execution. He doesn’t have the mind to grasp geopolitical initiatives in their complexity, let alone the political instincts to marshal the persons and institutions required to see them through.
