Corolla and CC cross are meant to be money savers, easy to maintain and less money to insure.

I think what kills it for me is that you could very easily tell me this car is a 2017 and I would believe you. That very hollow sound when you close the doors too...very Toyota like.

1:51 You can't open the trunk from inside nor with the key hub. You have to stretch and pull down manually to close the truck door. It makes this racing sound when driving even if you don't accelerate. The rear camera can easily get frosted. The 2024 brands has more specs.

I am surprised though that an LE Cross costs $30, 000. Seems like it should be about $27, 000 considering no hybrid and lowest trim level.

Great review! I'm STILL only considering the XSE Hybrid version, but once I actually test drive a hybrid (hopefully later this week), I'll know if I like the "low tech" interior or want to continue to support Hyundai. ONLY "beef" with Toyota is that the hybrids do NOT provide a spare tire (WTF?) because they got cheap with how they installed their rear motor electrical wiring.

Test drove this. Felt like a huge step backwards.

Heated side mirrors, too.
I will say that this rides better than my 2016 RAV4, with a bit more body roll.
Plus you get Toyota's direct shift cvt, and both port and direct injection.

This is probably one of the worst looking of the subcompacts. That interior looks like it was designed 10 years ago at least. Not a fan. KIA Seltos or Hyundai Kona all the way.
