Gervonta Davis, Ryan Garcia announce agreement in place for 2023 fight between the superstars. Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia appears to be a reality after two years of trading barbs on social media.
Garcia announced on Thursday that a fight between he and Davis will take place in Las Vegas in 2023. Davis confirmed that the fight is a "done deal" after he takes a fight against an opponent to be named on Jan. 7.
"I'm so pumped this fight is finally in place I want it more than anything right now," Garcia wrote. "I've put in the work, I'm at the prime of my career, and I know I'm going to be the biggest boxer in the world. That legacy starts today."
Showtime Sports president Stephen Espinoza credited Davis and Garcia for their continued commitment to making the fight happen despite complicating factors.

It took a long time to get to this moment. In a stacked lightweight division, Davis and Garcia had a chance to clash and be in the same league as The Four Kings of boxing of the 1970s and 1980s (Sugar Ray Leonard, Mavin Hagler, Roberto Duran, and Thomas Hearns). With both heading in opposite directions at various points, the chances of a fight were dwindling.Blueface, whose real name is Johnathan Porter, was taken into custody on Hughes Center Drive over an incident that occurred on Oct. 8, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said in a release on Tuesday. He was booked at the Clark County Detention Center.
His inmate report confirms Blueface was booked for attempted murder, use of a deadly weapon and discharging a gun into an occupied structure, vehicle, or craft on Tuesday. His arraignment is scheduled for 8 a.m. local time on Wednesday.
The "Thotiana" rapper, 25, was also booked for operating an unregistered vehicle, trailer, or semi, per the report.

In footage of the incident obtained by TMZ, Blueface is seen sitting on a bench against a building with Chrisean Rock. One plainclothes officer approaches him and pushes him against a wall. A couple more officers appear and help tackle Blueface to the ground.
Another clip shows roughly half a dozen plain-clothes officers surrounding the "Bussdown" rapper, as one puts handcuffs on him. He was on his stomach before the cops turned him around and stood him up. Two officers briefly searched his pockets before walking him away.

A concerned bystander who also captured video, obtained by TMZ, asked the officers why Blueface was being arrested, and one responded that he had a warrant.
