During a NATO training exercise in Slovenia with the 86th IBCT I met this Colonel a few times. She was a breath of fresh air. Very few officers, especially full birds feel like actual humans when you talk to them. She was very kind but not overtly fake kind, just genuine. She completed the movement down the mountain with us and chatted about home life, the training, and then just shot the shit with us like a normal person before going on with the entourage of brass to do senior officer things.
