this is not fair! The Middle East is neglected as if it has no Actors. They always bring in an Indian or African actor to play an Arab-Middle Eastern character even though they are a completely different race

If you consider that Vivi is from a nation that would be considered a middle eastern country, picking an actress to reflect the attributes makes sense. With any casting, there's always going to be someone who thinks they know better. I said way before they cast season 1, you need to cast people who look like the characters so you instantly recognize them in their roles. I feel like they hit it out of the park with casting for season 1. I can't wait to see who they cast for season 2.

Would’ve been better to have an Arab descent actor instead of Indian since Alabaster is based on Egypt. Guess there’s not many.

I hate FORCING diversity everywhere but I wouldn't cast anyone of the other ethnicity that they requested. Always imagined Alabasta people like this. But then again - everything depends on HOW THEY ACTUALLY ACT. If the actress is good, she's gonna make the show better even when her looks are questionable. That's also what I think of Robin and any other choices they make.

Leave it up to the fans we would have an actual Brazilian. No Inaki as Luffy and the actor that stunt double as Luffy would have permanent damaged feet and hospital bills from wearing Sandals during stunts. First time watchers would drop the the show after seeing Ep3 Usopp pickle nose in live action. Taz wouldn’t be casted cause they thought he look Eminem. Sometimes fans just need to fall back. Not everything needs to be 100% accurate. Blame Oda for making every female look Caucasian with different color hair.

luffy is not "brazilian"
sanji is not "french"
jimbe is not "indian"

robin: we all know robin was born in ohara, something to notice is that she cast her spells/skills in a mixture between french and spanish "millie fleurs" "gigantesco mano"
luffy: born in foosha villege, and grew up in goa kingdom along with sabo and ace, if u watched one piece goa kingdom is heavily related to the united kingdom, and also theres a city in india named "goa" but we also noticed they ate "ramen" so yeah its a weird place.
sanji: yes sanji cast his "skills" in french, but he didnt grew up with his family at all, he grew up with zef, he was born in germa kingdom, in one episode sanji´s father talked about restoring the "germanic empire" thats where the "germa 66" comes from
jimbe: this is so obvious... his "native" martial art is "karate gyojin" where karate comes from? yeah japan, also hes dressed with a hakama

in the reverie arc oda showed us some countries related to the real world such as "taco kingdom" "zamba kingdom" and "roshwan kingdom"
taco kingdom related to Mexico
zamba kingdom related to Brazil
roshwan kingdom related to Russia

also "latino" is a wrong term but whatever, "latinos" are found in almost every continent natively, any language originating from "latin" is considered "latino"

I'm typically of the opinion that ethnicity of fictional characters don't matter, unless it is important to the character's progression.

I would suspect that Oda probably agrees these two changes would make sense.
