So for those who don’t understand:
Marrk asked his dad for permission to go over to his girlfriend’s house, stay the night and take the car, to which he said “Whatever your mom says im ok with”. So he went to his mom; who was talking over the phone with her old friend vanessa. Marrk asked his mom if he could do what he told his dad. So she blindly said yes as she was too busy talking to vanessa. So for this part, the reason why she said yes was because she was too focused on vanessa, and thought that marrk was just asking something harmless, so she said yes. However, her brain did not process it (based on past experience w my mom), which is why she was confused at the end.

For those who doesn't understand, the middle child is dating the person that mom called. And the reason how mom lost his car keys is cuz of middle child asking to take her new car. And the middle child was driving to his girlfriends's house.
