Tony Tucker, if i remember correctly was the first person to go all 12 with Tyson. Super tough guy who didn’t get knocked out by the same shots Tyson used to level many other competitors that he fought. He still lost the decision of course but what a chin!

I competed against Tony Tucker in the amateurs 1980. This was right after he won the PanAm games in Puerto Rico. Our bout was in Detroit Michigan. At that time Tony was the number 1 rated 178lbs amateur fighter in the world after beating Sixto Serrea. Tony and I went the entire fight with no knockdown. At the end of the second round I came in with a hard hook to his right side rib cage. Tony was hurt! The bell rang ending the round. When the bell rang to come out for the third round he stayed in his corner. Apparently his corner claimed they lost his mouth piece! This gave Tony a five minute rest to recuperate from that hook to his rib cage. I lost the decision!
