🎉🎉🎉Good luck on your thesis and hoping for your reading plans coming into fruition! You brought Shubeik Lubeik to my attention, so I want to check it out this year. I want to spend 2025 focusing on the books I already own and buy less books (birthday, Indie Bookstore Day, and Christmas will be the main exceptions).

I'm going to be ambitious and try to do a bunch of reading challenges, and do lots of arc reviews. Your channel has def helped me look for more interesting nonfiction books and definitely some genre books from perspectives I wouldn't have probably looked for naturally, so hopefully I'll get to some of those this year. Best of luck with your thesis! 🎆 I had a lot of 2024 nonfiction reading plans that I want to actually finish/do in 2025. I'm trying not to worry too much about book number, so I can get into saved articles and finish the longer books that I've started as well.

Okay academia. 🙌I'm so happy for you! Welp, I've dedicated myself to host a 2 year readathon that's Interview with the Vampire inspired. So readers will be snooping onto the bookshelves of characters from the show adaptation. We're reading from Louis' bookshelf first & each character has reading prompts. I'll be reading Between the World & Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates, Human Acts by Han Kang & Notes of a Native son by James Baldwin to name a few.

Hundreds War was a really informative read for me but I definitely took the just one chapter a day approach - it's not that the writing was particularly dense but there was a lot of information for me to parse, as I wasn't as well informed as I should've been. I hope everything goes well with your thesis.

🎉🎉🎉🎉 I also decided at the end of 2024 that I wasn’t going to set a number of books goal for ‘25. Just to see what that does for my overall reading. The only goal I have is to try to read 6 non-fiction books this year and try and do a tiny journal entry after each book I read- just to engage with what I’m reading a bit more. I feel the same about audiobook, light nonfiction is the perfect thing to listen to.
And if you want to read Dracula this year you could do Dracula daily. It's an email service that's sends you each letter on the day it was written in the book, so you get read it in real time over about 9 months, it's very fun and by the end you've read the whole of Dracula!

I wanted to read Shubeik Lubeik after you recommended it and requested it for Christmas but didn't get it so going to have to buy it at some point. I am planning to finish War and Peace this year. I've been reading it for like 3 years now lol. I've read like 200 pages of it in the last week so I am well on my way to that goal! It's the basis for one of my favorite musicals (Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812) so I have been re-listening to that in between.

i feel the same way about non fiction audiobook! i love listening to the “easier” ones. if you want to read dracula i really like doing dracula daily, it runs from may to november and sends you a little chapter of dracula almost every day so you read it slower through the year. it felt way less intimidating that way for me
