This heart tugging melody, Phoolon tumhen pata hai, is the title song of the movie, Kissi se na kehna, composed by Bappi Lahiri.
Though most of his songs are flamboyant in content and style, he has also delivered some uniquely classic songs, the
present song being one of them. These romantic lyrics are penned by Yogesh, who made up in quality, what he lacked in quantity.
How can anyone forget songs from MILI or RAJANI GANDHA? Now, the singer. Asha has outclassed herself in rendering this song.
Her voice is whisper soft and gentle as though she is singing a lullaby. The minimal orchestration by BL allows Asha’s voice to be
the focal point. From all aspects, this is a classic. Deepti Naval is a talented artist and she has essayed some of the most difficult
roles in ART movies. Her movies like Chirota, Damul, and ANKAHEE are unforgettable. Thanks, Swapan da, for this delightful song.
Incidentally, Bappi Lahiri used the same melody in …Chanda Dekhe Chanda…., a duet by Kishore da and Lata in JHOOTHI 1985.
