With the New Arkana, Renault brings a new generation SUV with a highly advanced hybrid technology, both in its form and function – a reassuring, elevated driving position, spaciousness, without giving up any boot capacity and a distinctive, innovative style. It guarantees a more thrilling and responsive driving experience, especially with the R.S. Line trim design. It also makes no compromises on safety with a maximum score of 5 stars in Euro NCAP crash tests. At the same time, it can carry several types of engines with the latest full-hybrid technology– E-TECH Hybrid 145 hp – and its 1.3 TCe micro-hybrid 12V motors, not to mention the 140 hp and 160 hp versions (as of October 2021).

The New Renault Arkana is designed to meet the very diverse expectations of international markets. It illustrates the Groupe Renault’s global approach and its capacity to conquer new markets. This is a worldwide vehicle, with technical features tailored to each market. In Europe, the New Arkana is based on the Alliance’s CMF-B modular platform which was also featured on the latest generations of Clio and Captur.

Like the Renault Samsung Motors XM3, the New Renault Arkana will also be made at the Busan plant (South Korea). The Group is set to start taking orders in March 2021 for a release, depending on the markets, by the end of March for the TCe versions and as of June for the E-TECH Hybrid version.

While walking in camouflaged gear in the Paris region, the Renault Arkana was surprised in China in its final livery. Another little scoop for the road: the SUV coupe will have a 1.6 E-Tech hybrid version of 140 hp. Latest news to date, Samsung Motors officially presented the production version of the XM3, a clone of the Renault Arkana marketed in Europe in spring 2021.

August 2018. At the Moscow Motor Show, Renault presents the Arkana concept, a 4.54 m coupe SUV, which is causing a sensation. Nevertheless, Laurens Van den Acker, the style boss, told us on the spot that the mass was said for marketing in Europe.

In May 2019, an inside source told us that the Arkana case was once again under review by the new management and, against all expectations, the outcome is positive. According to our colleagues at Downshift, a member of Renault's marketing department has confirmed its launch in France in 2021. But, contrary to their claims, the Arkana will not need major industrial modifications to be produced in Europe.

As we announced in May 2019, Renault has reopened the Arkana case, following the change in governance at the head of the Renault group. A few months later, the decision fell: this 4.54 m SUV cut will be marketed in France in spring 2021.

Logically, Renault's SUV coupe should favor the most powerful engines, namely the 1.3 TCe of 130 and 155 hp and the Blue dCi 115 hp. The E-Tech versions (140 hp hybrid and 160 hp plug-in hybrid) are also on the shelf. Its marketing will take place in mid-2021, a few months before the presentation of the second generation of the Kadjar scheduled for the end of 2021. It remains to be seen why Renault has changed its mind? The strong decline in sales of the Mégane 4 partly answers this question.
