im a little confused...
this doesnt sound right
@ 0:25 dude says "create ssh key on the SERVER and then send it to the DESKTOP"
isnt this backwards?
i believe the servers private key already exists without having to be created and the first time you ssh into your server from your desktop the servers public key is then stored on your local machine
this is to prevent/detect man in the middle attacks.

what you are talking about here, is setting up a "passwordless" ssh-key login from the desktop into the server. which i believe requires you to create an ssh key on the desktop and then somehow copy it to the server, which i am struggling with. it doesnt seem like anything i do is actually getting my desktops public key into the "authorized_keys" file on my server.

ive tried several methods and they said they worked but then when i check the Authorized_keys file on my server with nano, it just looks like there is nothing there. its just a blank file.
whats going on?
