"O bli hos meg" - "O stay with me" is perhaps one of the world's most famous hymns. The author, Scottish priest Henry Francis Lyte, was born in 1793 and wrote his masterpiece just before he died in the fall of 1847. He had his service among fishermen and sailors in Lower Brixham, and was at the age of 54 years severely bothered by tuberculosis . Gunnar Bonsaksen writes about this hymn in the songbook "Sing With!"
(From funeral in Tjøtta church, Norway, 28.07.2017).
