A few years before 1960 - the year the Cowboys were founded - Murchison tried to buy the so-called Washington Redskins franchise from Marshall in 1958. Before closing the deal, George decided to propose changing the terms, which infuriated Clint and led to him forward. cancel a deal, a purchase, creating a tense climate between them.
In order for Murchsion to realize his desire to start a new American football franchise, the unanimous consent of all National Football League team owners was required at the time, and because of the struggles, Marshall tried to stop Murchsion from joining as owner.
