It's terrifying to think that, that fire almost claimed my home. I was supposed to be in building 13 (the one that burned), but 3 days before I moved into my new home, Cypresswood Court told me that the previous tenant had damaged the apartment to a degree that would take more time to repair, than I had to move in. So they moved me to a much larger apartment on the other side of the complex and compensated me for it. I always had a fear of fire in a place like this, then this happened about 1 year and 1 month AFTER I moved in in February 2016.

I got the call from a neighbor that thought I was still living in that building and asked if I was out. I was up in Porter visiting a friend at the time and I don't think I've ever driven so fast to get back home in my life because I literally thought I had just lost everything. God definitely was looking out for me that day and the day I moved in.
